POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a reliable and eager accountant to join our team! In this position you will perform general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Ensure that monthly financials are prepared in a timely and accurate manner including month-end processing and journal entry completion
  • Perform monthly GL Account and other reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal, company accounting, and financial guidelines
  • Responsible for activities of the disbursement functions, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and purchase orders
  • Reporting and analysis of vendor spending, vendor accounts payable, etc.
  • Update financial data in accounting system (NetSuite) and other databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records, etc., as assigned
  • Assist senior accountant in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/year-end closings
  • Assist with other accounting projects
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department
  • Provide support for internal and external audits as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Substantial experience with NetSuite a HUGE plus
  • Proficiency with customary Microsoft applications
  • Understanding of the accounting process through a reconciled Trial Balance and Financial Statements
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines handling multiple duties or projects at the same time
  • Desire to be challenged, learn on the job, and make suggestions
  • Strong result orientation, proactive and takes ownership
  • Understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or two years of accounting/accounts payable experience
